On the Road.

Hey buzzers,
Well I have been in Melbourne, Rixons in Tourquay asked me to come and do a seminar in session styling. Mark, the owner was rapted with the results and looks forward to incorporating more styling into his salon. I want to thank the team for making me feel welcomed and I know they will use what I showed then.
Nicole from L oreal and I then jumped in the car and hit the M1 to Melbourne!! I was asked to show the id team a presentation on my hair journey and give them advice on how I have gotten too where I am today. This is an impressive group and the future of Australian Hairdressing is in good shape and being mentored by the best !
It's 6 weeks to Christmas!!! so to all the salons out there it will be getting crazy busy so work hard give it your all and I will keep you posted with all my news.

What a week !!!!!

Phew,
A big week in the world of ngatahairbuzz!! I went up to Brisbane last weekend to see my folks and to do my session styling course "Make Me A Superstylist" Hello to all the kids in the class and I hope the day was a great learning opportunity for you. I was booked on a flight that afternoon to come back to Sydney but a big ole mean electrical storm hit Brissy and my flight was canned.....Mum to the rescue, I finally got home the next day (thanks Virgin Blue) and had to prepare for the Vogue/Kerastase readers event I was hosting at my Ivy salon. It went well and was a fun night giving 40 guests tips and tricks to getting dream hair. The next night was the Absolut Hallwoween party- Rock Royalty Ruin was the theme and I went as Prince and my partner went as Kurt Cobain. I did an amazing wig for Pip Edwards as she went as Edie Sedgewick, Daimon Downey(ex Sneaky Sound System) I turned into a cool Mozart. It was great night and I love living in Sydney because the crowd was amazing and some seriously hot guys and chicks.
Stay tuned for my weekend wrap-up on who got there hair right in this weeks social scene and who didn't! Good luck for the gee gee's on Tuesday.

Global Keratin Treatment.

The Verdict.
The three models we tested the treatment on came back to the salon for the follow up. The results are impressive! Model 1- Nev, had short frizzy,  flyaway hair and he needs to use a heavy product to control his hair, after the treatment we washed Nev's hair with the Keratin shampoo and conditioner then we got Nev to dry off his hair without styling products and only using his hands, the result was soft, shiny and very managable....great! Model 2, Jess, her hair is fine and long and she commented on how her hair has an annoying kink in the back, following the same steps as Nev her result was shiny, straight and her hair was dried off with her hands and with no brushing!  Jess's hair looked super healthly and her ends which needed trimming ! felt smooth. Model 3, Kelly, her hair is thick, curly-frizzy, generally needs alot of product and is hard to style and takes alot of effort. Kelly was amazed when she blast dried her hair and only needed to smooth out her ends, Kelly loved how her hair still had volume but felt conditioned. We will be offering this service at my salons, the treatment lasts up to 4 months, the price ranges from $350.00-$800.00 approx. A consultation is necessary and the service can take up to 4 hours so be prepared. I am impressed and look forward to giving my cilents the hair the hair they have dreamed off.

Taming of the Shrew.

Ok out there, here's the lowdown on the Keratin treatment we tested at my salon, first of all it's NOT a straightening system but a taming solution for hair types that are unruly. If you have thick,  frizzy out of control hair,  the system will tame your hair so it's easier to manage and make it weatherproof from the effects of humidity. Imagine your hair like a rope that has unraveled and is coarse and rough, the keratin is hot ironed into the hair fibre and filled with the keratin resulting in a smoother finish. If your hair is highlighted or bleached the treatment strengthens and smoothes the hair shaft conditioning the hair. The process is simple but it also takes time depending on length and thickness of the hair. The cilent is to return to the salon two days later and washed and conditioned with the recommended products and dry off without too much styling effort so you can see the full effect.I will post the results after we see our models in two days.

Good-bye fuzzy !!!!

So, tonight at Brad Ngata Hair Direction Downtown, we are testing the "Brazillian Blowout" or the 6 week blow dry. The  Global Keratin Straigthening System is an amazing new hair straightening service that eventually washes out opposed to the dated Japanese system which grows out. I am excited to be able to offer this to my cilentele especially the guys!!!! The treatment is safe, can be used on tinted and hightlighted hair promising better condition. In Sydney we are prone to humid days which plays havoc with hair texture that is wavy, curly and frizzy making your blow dry a nightmare!!!!! fingers crossed it works...... will keep you posted.

Happy Monday,
Looking at the social pages in the Sunday papers it was a busy week out there, Miranda got it right with her fab headpiece and glam hair !!! The boys out and about also looked groomed and really nailing their styling. Cool hair at the Thomas Sabo launch, if you are to wear your hair straight mess it up from the mid-lengths with a quick spritz of sea salt spray your hair will look more edgy. Not keen on the Princess Anne do's at the Cerrone store worn by the models...not a good shape babe. Bulgari, Peter Morrissey, Belvedere IX launches guests had cool blow drys but remember this season hair needs to be a little 'undone' so mess it up a little. At the LadyLux re-launch I'd like to see some up do's, the textured ponytail and some short cuts, come on girls get the hair happening !!!! Tan Temple launch guests hair was not pretty and if your going to wear extensions make sure they blend well and get your hair styled by a professional. Overall, not bad, as the party season gears up follow my blog for tips on how to do your hair properly, but ask your stylist to create a look for the event you have been invited too.

Spring Racing

Hello again,
I would like to share insight into what's cool and what's not sweethearts. Spring racing means hats so if you are wearing a large brimmed, busy hat it  needs to be tilted slightly and your hair needs to be in a textured low chignon to one side.If you are going to wear a smaller hat  or a fascinator hair needs to be worn with a natural texture and in amazing condition !!!!! Keep it simple and always act like a lady. I hate seeing bad extensions that are a mismatched colour and curled with a ghd,  but the curls are weird square shape....ugly. Try not to vomit into your fascinator ala" Kath and Kim" and for godsake keep your shoes on!!!!Now go and have fun, don't blow all your dough, keep yourself nice.
Good luck,
